Tattoo After Care Instructions

For optimal healing of your tattoo, follow these guidelines:

Hand Washing: Start by washing your hands thoroughly with an unscented antibacterial hand soap.

Tattoo Cleaning: Gently wash the tattoo using the same soap in lukewarm water. Allow it to air dry; avoid using towels or any other materials for drying.

Water Exposure: Avoid submerging the tattoo in water. This means no swimming or bathing for the first 2 weeks.

Avoid Perfumed Products: Stay clear of any products with perfumes, such as shampoos, conditioners, or scented soaps, as they can irritate the tattoo.

Ointment Application: Apply a recommended ointment like Aquaphor or A&D in very thin layers. This should be done 2-3 times a day as the tattoo dries.

Avoid Friction and Lint: Prevent any rubbing or friction on the tattoo from items like wrist bracelets, cuffs, or straps. Also, keep it away from lint-producing materials like wool.

Overwashing: Do not overwash the tattoo. However, if it gets soiled, clean it gently and reapply the ointment after drying.

Healing Process: It’s normal for the tattoo to itch and peel after a few days. Do not scratch or pick at it; let the flakes fall off naturally.

Free Touch-Ups: Generally, free touch-ups are offered, except for tattoos on questionable areas like hands, feet, neck, or lower stomach.
